Three Days- San Juan Islands Although the San Juan islands have over 100 named islands and is a dream destination for thousands of boaters each year, Captain Tom has selected destinations to fill your entire day with discovery and fun. Day One- Roche Harbor Resort and Marina ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() < > Departing Cap Sante Marina after an onboard breakfast, you’ll cruise to Roche Harbor Marina. On the way you’ll travel among some of the most beautiful San Juan islands at a relaxed 8 knots. We’ll look for Steller sea lions, Dall’s porpoises and perhaps Orca whales. You’ll travel along the southwest side of Spieden Island to look for the Mouflon big horn sheep and bald eagles. Arriving in Roche Harbor by lunchtime, you can spend the rest of the day enjoying everything from historic Hotel de Haro, the heated outdoor pool, Westcott Bay Sculpture Park and Afterglow Spa or a short hike to the unforgettable McMillen family vista mausoleum. Enjoy “happy hour” aboard your motor-yacht while confirming your dinner reservation at either McMillen’s Restaurant or the Madrona Grill (set up by Capt. Tom). Don’t miss the formal “Retirement of the Colors” at sunset. Day Two- Rosario Resort and Marina ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() < > Rosario After breakfast, you can schedule a morning kayak or paddle board excursion around the harbor, or sleep in while Capt. Tom gets underway. You’ll cruise up to the Turn Point lighthouse on the west end of Stuart Island for a beautiful photo op. Then it’s a leisurely cruise east through Pole Pass and Harney Channel. Keep a lookout for the majestic Mount Baker to the east as you enjoy lunch while cruising. Upon reaching East Sound on Orcas Island you’ll head north into Rosario Marina. Rosario Marina and Resort Spa has everything to offer. Take a short walk to the main resort and book a session at the spa for a massage or lap swim in their salt water indoor pool. Enjoy the magnificent view from the deck of the outdoor heated pool as well. Dinner reservations can be made by Capt. Tom (in advance) for the Mansion Restaurant or the Cascade Bar and Grill at the marina. If you desire, catch a taxi and go to the picturesque East Sound village for dining in any one of the unique, locally owned restaurants. There are wonderful shops to visit as well. Day Three- Cap Sante Marina ![]() ![]() ![]() < > Departing at noon allows you time to enjoy a morning walk along the beautiful grounds of Rosario before enjoying a champagne brunch, prepared by Captain Tom, aboard your motor-yacht. Mimosa’s anyone? Departing Rosario and East Sound you’ll travel through Obstruction Pass and into Rosario Strait. If you want to “take the helm”, Capt. Tom will teach you many of the operating and navigation basics should you think a motor-yacht is something you would like to charter on your own. Traveling south along Cypress Island you’ll head along the north shore of Guemes Island and enter Padilla Bay, arriving back at Cap Sante Marina by 4:30 PM. |
