Fun Things to do on the Water, at the Marinas or at the Marine Parks Each day you may want to do a little extra on the water or the islands. Your motor-yacht “Swell” has a dinghy that can comfortably accommodate 4 adults. Capt. Tom will show you how easy it is to operate, and you are free to enjoy it any time we are at anchor or in a marina. If you would like to spend a morning or afternoon kayaking, paddle boarding, or whale watching, all the marinas you will visit provide these activities and Capt. Tom can make a reservation for you. Also, each marina has its own heated pool or jacuzzi. There are local tours both self-guided and guided. You can rent a bike and travel around or just take a hike and see many interesting locations. Some marinas offer half day fishing trips. If you want to be pampered, how about going to the spa for a massage or body treatment. Most of the marinas offer these services. If you are an avid photographer, the San Juan and Gulf Islands offer some of the best photo ops in the Pacific Northwest. A short trip to one of the Marine State Parks can be included as part of your itinerary. There’s no added cost to stopping off at one of these parks. Simply a matter of dropping anchor, getting in the dinghy and going ashore at the marine park. Time/weather permitting, you can take a 45 or 90-minute scenic flight around the San Juan Islands as well as Mt. Baker. Westwind Aviation, out of Friday Harbor, provides these tours. Capt. Tom would be happy to coordinate such a tour. It should be reserved at least a week before your cruise begins. Capt. Tom |
